Demand is Rising

Tillsonburg is changing. With increased housing pressure from an increasing population, coupled with layoffs and closures from surrounding workplaces, more households are finding it difficult to keep up. They are already seeing this reflected in their numbers, and all indicators suggest this trend will continue. The Foodbank’s focus right now is simple and strategic: scale responsibly, stay ahead of need, and ensure no one in the community falls through the cracks.
While the Foodbank is often able to provide core food items, many clients are missing the supporting ingredients that turn those items into a complete, nourishing meal.

Items That Make a Real Difference

  • Condiments
  • Cooking oils
  • Canned proteins
  • Vinegars or pickled items
  • Spices and seasonings
These pantry staples may seem small, but they bridge the gap between “having food” and being able to prepare a fully rounded meal with dignity and choice.
What they have adequate supplies of are canned beans of all varieties and tomato soup.
